About our school

We are a 4 teacher school with a fulltime SEN teacher in the parish of Castlemaine in Co.Kerry. We are located at the beginning of the Dingle peninsula between Castlemaine and Inch on the Wild Atlantic Way. We currently have 97 children in the school. Mr. MacGearailt is the principal. He currently teaches 5th and 6th. Mr Ryan teaches 3rd and 4th. Ms. McHugh teaches 1st and 2nd. Ms. McGrath teaches Junior and Senior Infants. Mrs. Griffin is our SEN teacher. We also have 2 SNA's on our staff. We have Interactive Whiteboards and an IPad in each classroom, pupil laptops and also a computer room with 10 desktops.

We received our 6th green flag for Global Citizenship in June 2018 We received our second Active (blue) flag for promoting games and physical activity in our school in 2015 and we are currently in the process of re-applying. We participated in the Blue Flag European Union initiative. We achieved Health Promoting status in June 2018. We are also in year 5 of the Gaelbhratach. In June 2014 we were delighted to be awarded the Digital Schools of Distinction Award for promoting the use of ICT within the school. We also received the Discovering Maths and Science Award for the last 6 years running.
