About our school

We are a 4 teacher school in the parish of Castlemaine in Co.Kerry. We are located at the beginning of the Dingle peninsula between Castlemaine and Inch.
We currently have 93 children in the school. Mr. MacGearailt is the principal. He currently teaches 5th and 6th. Mr Ryan teaches 3rd and 4th. Ms. McHugh teaches 1st and 2nd. Ms. McGrath teaches Junior and Senior Infants. Mrs. Griffin is our SEN teacher.
We have Interactive Whiteboards and an IPad in each classroom, pupil laptops and also a computer room with 12 desktops.

We received our 5th green flag for Biodiversity in June 2016
We received our second Active (blue) flag for promoting games and physical activity in our school in 2015.
The senior room received the Junior Entrepreneur flag in 2013 for setting up and managing their very own mini business.
We are also involved in a French programme whereby 5th & 6th participate in French classes.

In June 2014 we were delighted to be awarded the Digital Schools of Distinction Award for promoting the use of ICT within the school.
We are a Health Promoting School.
We are currently taking part in the Brat Ghaelach and Blue Star programmes.
We also received the Discovering Maths and Science Award for the last 5 years running.
