About our School

A little bit of history!

Originally the school was located to the east of the current building (where Keel Community Centre is located). A new school was built in 1969 with 3 classrooms. In 2017 a fourth mainstream classroom was added. In 2021 we hope to move into our newest classroom. The extra space will be a welcome addition to the facilities of the school.

Initiatives that we participate in:

We received our 7th green flag in 2020.  We received our 3rd Active (blue) flag for promoting games and physical activity in our school in 2018. We annually participate in the Blue Flag European Union initiative. We are a Health Promoting school since June 2018. We are also in year 7 of the Gaelbhratach. In June 2014 we were delighted to be awarded the Digital Schools of Distinction Award for promoting the use of ICT within the school. We also received the Discovering Maths and Science Award for the last 7 years running. Last year we received our second Amber Flag for our work on Mental Health Awareness.
